when we learn our first langauge, we aren't tested, punished with bad grades or even rewards.. before going to school, we don't study grammar rules, but do learn to communicate fluidly.. so is it possible to learn to communicate in a second or third language without grammar study?

Dr. Stephen Krashen says non-grammar methods like TPR and TPRS or storyasking can, in fact, help us learn to communicate in a new language, without explicit study of grammar.. Dr. Krashen says all effective language methods share one key ingredient: comprehensible input.

twext text makes foreign text more comprehensible.. reading twext, you start to learn simpler words and phrases that are oft repeated.. the more foreign text you read, the more you learn the text and the less you need the twext.. but the twext is there when you need more of that comprehensible input..

basically the way you learn language is by using it, by experiencing it in contexts that you care about.. twext just gives you another tool to help make new language meaningful to you..
