comprehensible input is what Dr. Krashen says we need to learn language.. if input (what we hear or read) is not comprehensible, we feel lost or bad.. these feelings form an affective filter that blocks us from learning..

we don't like that.

when input is comprehensible, we understand more and like that.. it feels good to "get it".. when we feel better we learn more, and the more we understand, the more context we have to learn new language.

we like this.

twext makes a foreign language text comprehensible by formatting translations to help you learn.. any chunk of text you don't get includes a twext translation that you do.. so you get the input you do need to learn.

the most comprehensible input is real interaction in real language culture in real life with people you like.. twext gives you stuff to talk about, like interesting text and pop lyrics and sayings..

can you comprehend fun? interesting? meaningful?
