language identity? the theme for current digital pioneers free software grant is identity.. what part of your language is your identity? how much of your identity is your language?

language is a big word.. narrow focus to language expressed in text and you can define some language identity.. like what words do you know? how do you use them? with who? in how many languages? are you learning more? or maybe you know it all?

translators, we love language.. translating between languages, we love words and we want to translate them right, properly, truthfully.. we will fuss and fight to best define a translation.. does how we translate talk about our identity? how do you translate?

what happens to words that get lost in translation? do more words ooze around the problem, wanting to heal? sometimes you just can't explain, you gotta be there.. freely associating, mixing with language, playing with words, meeting new people, het leren van het Nederlandse, it all sounds lovely to me.. i wish i could join you in Amsterdam 04 July, it sounds really fun.. thanks for the invite Corline=)

we the people who like words and language and translation and learning, we like each other because we have things in common.. can a new tool like twexter play a part in our conversation and bring us closer? would this closerness change our identities? make opportunities? make us smarter?

to wixi a wiki is to get it twext, to make the wiki more multilingual.. moinmoin is a wiki written in python.. maybe our digital pioneers proposal can embed a twexter javascript front end on the moinmoin plataforma and make the world's first wixi work =)

communications capacity between us humans grows and grows.. the www is helping us to communicate more and more all over the world.. better communication between us is good, why? because in this world we have some dumb problems that need smart solutions, fast.. do we get smarter when we learn more language?

On 4 July, Digital Pioneers organizes a cooperation competition for which everybody invited has been supported becomes that ever by Digital Pioneers. They get to create the task during the meeting in groups a new project proposal with earlier developed applicaties. The 3 through the group best judged projects get to lead 5000 Euros the plan out. what if there was database anyone can grok and own.. your own database that you trust, secured in an open transparent software system.. it's in a single memory location where you chose, your boxen, p2p or cloud.. and you choose who can see what.. if twexml and maybe dodo data, any idiot can grok it, and geeks can sort and skin and then, with user permission, suck data into databasi of choice and share with relative ease.. all kindsa people, all kinsa language..
